Sarcastically dismissed is thisnewspaper, apparently a “house journal for British Muslims”, while serious writers who werecritical of him – Arundhati Roy, Louis de Bernières, John le Carré – are roundly trashed.Rushdie, a god of liberalism, proves that words and images hurt.
