China is of a vast territory. In its long history, China has gradually formed a variety of traditional dwellings with different characteristics.
Traditional dwellings bear distinct regional characteristics. Mao Ge, majoring in architecture, began to study traditional dwellings. After seeing various kinds of dwelling houses, she learned that every building was the result of craftsmen's selfless labor. In these folk buildings, she saw the deep love of Chinese people for their lives in the past.
In the 1980s, with the acceleration of urbanization, many traditional residential buildings were missing; traditional construction techniques, building tools, building knowledge and so on were gradually ignored by people. She hopes that more people, especially the young, will understand the beauty of traditional dwellings and love them, and furthermore, attach due importance to them and protect them.
As one of China's post-80s generation who grew up watching comics, Mao Ge loves comics, so she had an idea, maybe we can use simple funny caricatures and plain words to introduce Chinese traditional dwellings to the public, so as to arouse more people’s interest in Chinese traditional dwellings.
