The vast Asia and Pacific region is home to many countries. It accounts for 60 percent of the global population, nearly 60 percent of the global economy and 50 percent of international trade. These figures point to its strategic importance on the global landscape. Over recent years, the region has seen impressive development and emerged as the world’s most dynamic region with the greatest potential. Countries around the world are more interested in and investing more in the region. As a result of the profound adjustment of international relations, this region also has undergone dramatic changes.
China is committed to the peace and stability of the Asia Pacific region. It follows the path of peaceful development and the win-win strategy of opening up. It also strengthens friendship and cooperation with all other countries on the basis of the Five Principles for Peaceful Coexistence, and engages in regional cooperation across sectors. It plays an active role in the resolution of traditional and non-traditional security challenges and strives for lasting peace and shared prosperity of the region.
The Chinese people are working to live out the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation, which will bring more cooperation opportunities and benefits to the Asia Pacific region.
