　　The Yuan drama, The Orphan of Zhao, is a historical tragedy written by Ji Junxiang, also known as The Discretion of the Orphan of Zhao. The relevant historical event is recorded in The Commentary of Zuo and The Shiji Commentary of The Family of Zhao. The drama describes the tragedy of the aristocratic family of Zhao, in which the Zhao family is maliciously accused and later exterminated at the hands of the treacherous court official, Tu Anjia, during the Spring and Autumn period. After having grown up, Zhao Wuchang, the orphan of the Zhao family, revenged for his family. This Yuan drama classically reflects the spiritual aspects of Chinese tragedies, and the spirit of both resistance and the characteristic of never yielding under extreme circumstances.
