　　他的工作日从早饭之前就在办公室开始了，然后读报纸，签署文件，会见部长。用过简单的午饭后他可能骑马出去，或驾马车与夫人一起出去，也许去一个士兵医院，或一个军营。晚饭后他可能会回到办公室再工作三个小时，或者披上一条灰色的长围巾，不带卫兵独自出去散步，到作战部去看看有什么电报，回到家时通常是午夜了。
