Do Students Need to Wear School Uniforms?
It is not new to see students wearing school uniforms. In fact, most schools in China, both public and private, require their students to wear school uniforms.
People’s opinions are divided on this issue. Some people hold that wearing school uniforms is beneficial to students in that they cannot judge their peers by the clothes they wear. Therefore, students, no matter from poor or rich families, are equal in this regard. In contrast, others think that wearing school uniforms has a harmful impact on students’ individuality, which certainly does no good to their development.
Taking different opinions into account, I believe school uniform is an indispensable part of school life due to its many merits, but we should not put too much emphasis on it.

学生穿校服不是什么新鲜事。事实上，中国大多数的学校，不论公立还是私立，都要求学生穿校服。
人们对此的看法各异。一些人认为穿校服对学生有利，因为学生不能以服饰取人。家庭贫穷的孩子和富裕家庭的孩子能够在这一点上处于同等地位。但是，其他人认为穿校服有碍学生个性的发展，这对孩子的成长当然是无益的。
综合考虑两种不同的观点，我认为校服是校园生活不可或缺的一部分，益处良多，但是我们也不应该过分强调校服的作用。
