1.3.In developing countries, some people think governments should introduce new technology for people in order to improve the quality of life, while others believe governments should offer free education. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
The government, as a decision-maker, is the representative of citizen’s basic interests. In this sense, every governmental policy will inevitably exert a profound influence on its citizens’ quality of life and further prosperity of the nation. People have been debating for years the function of a good government, as I see it, both introducing innovative high-tech products and popularizing free education fall into the category of the governmental function.
The reason why developing high-tech products could conduce to the amelioration of a nation’s population lies in three main aspects. Primarily, prospering aviation can, to large extent optimize people’s quality of life. For example, the development of the international trade makes citizens have access to various seasoned fruits and vegetables, likewise, the prosperity of international tourism enables people to improve the quality of their lives by touring many hot scenic spots with their families, pursuing academic dreams overseas and thus enjoy more leisure activities or embrace more personal success. Also, the betterment of people’s life depends on the popularity of the Internet and the mobile phone, specifically, cell phone greatly strengthens the family tie and diversifies people’s entertainment. Similarly, with availability of the Internet, more and more citizens can embark on self-employment by drawing on e-commerce or receiving education at home.
Education is one of the key words of our time. A man without an education, many of us believe, is an unfortunate victim of adverse circumstances, deprived of one of the golden chances, thereby, supporting free education has an indispensable role to play in perfecting people’s quality of life. For a start, those poverty-stricken children from the rural areas could become the beneficiaries of free education, it is highly possible that a man receiving fine education can shake off poverty and then revolutionize his or her destiny. Further, a nation could benefit from the promotion of universal education, surely, talents inject new vitality into the mightiness of a country, the increased happiness index of the citizens will ensue when a nation become stronger and richer.
Overall,I reaffirm my stand that a nation can rejuvenate through science and education,to optimize people's quality of life, efforts should be made the government in terms of high-tech innovation and universal education.
2.5.Governments are encouraging industries and businesses to move from large cities to regional areas. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
Country leaders intentionally persuade industries and businesses to scatter their manufactures and offices in the outskirts. Although drawbacks may appear in such cases, personally I believe that benefits of moving far from center outweigh the drawbacks.
On the one hand, difficulties in moving industries far from big cities can be divided into three main aspects which are financial preparedness, lack of labor and transportation shortage. When it comes to economic issues, governments need a great number of expenditures to move giant existing factories to the outside.
Which is more, the lack of skilled workers is also a serious impact. The fact that almost employees are not willing to live in the countryside, where health care is not in high quality and schools are not well-provided for their children, is predictable. Transportation is the last but not least issue among the government’s concerns in order to bring factories to remote areas. Infrastructures such as roads, railways and trams should be built to connect big cities and industrialized areas. Although in the fast pace’s world nowadays people have been applied high technologies into daily transportation, it remains an undoubted disadvantage.
On the other hand, making decision to move factories and business can benefit both nature and human life. Environmental speaking, it is likely that cities where suffered air and noise pollution in the past, would become cleaner and greener in the future. Also, it may lead to the reduction of traffic jam and over population in the center. Not only does it impact on the nature, it also creates more job opportunities in order to establish new areas. Living in deprived areas means building a more sustainable relationship between human and the surroundings. As a result, physical and mental health can increase.
Overall, while many problems may occur when it comes to moving industries and trades toward peripheral areas, we cannot ignore the advantages in which both cities and regional areas receive. Environment is protectable, health is improving, and people enjoy less stressful life. Those are predictable benefits.
