Are flexible working arrangements for women withchildren causing resentment among those whodon't have children? Researchers in Britain havefound that many of those surveys thought womenwho worked flexible hours were less committedthan their colleagues.
(19) Working part-time, leaving early to pick up the kids: flexible working is seen as somethingthat can help parents, but it could be having a negative impact. 25,000 women were surveyed.About half of those questioned said that women who worked flexible hours were resented andviewed as less committed by their colleagues. And it can be quite difficult to get your voice heard if you are the childless one inthat situation."
