　　Love in a Fallen City is a short story written by Zhang Ailing, a distinguished modern Chinese writer. It is the work to first bring Zhang fame, and also her best-known work. This short story is a study of love, marriage, and human nature. It demonstrates who survives and struggles before and after the warring period. The story takes place in Hong Kong, where Bai Liusu and Fan Liuyuan accidentally meet, and then proceed in a proverbial game of emotions. Ultimately, they bare their heart to each other and share a lifelong love. This work established Zhang Ailing’s position in the Chinese literary world.
