The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art is a math treatise which was completed in AD 1st Century. The book concluded the math achievements of the Warring State, Qin and Han Dynasty. The book not only mentioned fractions, but was also the first book that recorded insufficiency. The chapter on Equation claimed the minus and its add and subtract for the first time.
