　　Hubei Guns Factory, also called Hanyang Arsenal is a new modern guns factory established by Zhang Zhidong, the governor-general of Hu-Guang in the sixteenth year of Guangxu (1890). At the time, the equipment was the newest in the whole country’s weaponry manufacture factories and the most important were bought from German Force Factory and Greuthungi Factory. It produced guns, cannons, bullets, cannon balls and the matched gun carriage, copper shell, primer and so on.
