　　As one of the iconic cultural landscapes of Shanghai, the approximately 468 m-high Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower’s construction was commenced in July 1991 and put into operation from May 1995 to provide services for the transmission of 6 sets of wireless television businesses in Shanghai. Besides this, with Shanghai International Media Center, the Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower is among the first batch of "National Class-5A Tourist Attractions" housing a Space Module, revolving restaurant and other landscapes and facilities. The architecture possesses good wind resistance quality.
