　　上党八音会是一种汉族民间吹打乐，在山西省东南部于长治、晋城一带广为流传。八音会是民间组织的音乐班子，主要使用鼓、锣、钹、笙、箫、笛、管等八种乐器，故名八音会。其主要功能是服务社会、服务民众，娱神、娱鬼，以及人自娱。2006年，上党八音会被列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。

　　Shangdang eight-part ensemble is a style of wind and percussion music, most popular around Changzhi and Jincheng in the southeast of Shanxi Povince. The eight-part ensemble is a type of folk band composed of eight instruments: drum, gong, ba, sheng, xiao, di, and guan. The music is used to serve the public in entertaining the gods, ghosts, and the humans themselves. Shangdang eight-part ensemble was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2006.
