　　清道光、咸丰年间，智化寺音乐从寺院逐渐传播到北京周边地区，成为北方佛曲的代表，被时人冠以“京音乐”。智化寺京音乐风格庄重、古朴典雅，曲体结构庞大、规范，演奏技法丰富，曲目蕴藏巨大，已传承五百七十多年，被誉为中国古代汉族音乐的“活化石”。2006年，智化寺京音乐入选第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。

　　Jing Music from Zhihua Temple

　　During the reign of Daoguang and Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, music from Zhihua Temple spread to nearby districts in Beijing, and soon became representative of Buddhist music in the North. It soon became known as‘Jing music’. Jing music from Zhihua Temple combines an august and classically elegant style, standardized structures, various performance techniques, and an enormous repertoire. Having been in existence for over 570 years, it is honoured as a living fossil of ancient Han music. Jing music of Zhihua Temple was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2006.
