　　王莽(公元前45-公元23年)，字巨君，中国历史上新朝的建立者，即新始祖，公元8年-公元23年在位。王莽为西汉外戚王氏家族的重要成员，公元8年，王莽篡夺帝位，建元“始建国”，宣布推行新政，史称“王莽改制”。王莽统治的末期，天下大乱，更始军攻入长安，王莽死于乱军之中。

　　Wang Mang (45BC-23AD), whose courtesy name was Jujun, was the founder of the Xin Dynasty, i.e. Emperor Shizu of Xin on the throne from 8 AD to 23 AD. As the major member of the Wang Family, relative of the royal family of the Western Han Dynasty, Wang Mang usurped the throne in 8AD, established a new state and announced the installation of a new court historically known as "Wang Mang’s Restructuring". The late period of Wang Mang’s ruling saw great social chaos: the Gengshi Army seized Chang’an and Wang Mang was killed during the chaos.
