　　三峡水利枢纽工程，即三峡水电站，又称三峡工程。是世界上规模最大的水电站，也是中国有史以来建设最大型的工程项目。1992年获得中国全国人民代表大会批准建设，1994年正式动工兴建，2003年六月一日下午开始蓄水发电，于2009年全部完工。大坝高程185米，蓄水高程175米，水库长2335米，静态投资1352.66人民币，安装32台单机容量为70万千瓦的水电机组。

　　The Three Gorges Water Project, or the Three Gorges Hydropower Station is the world’s largest hydropower station as well as the largest construction project in China’s history. In 1992, the project was gained approved by China’s National People’s Congress, and started construction in 1994. Power generation started on the afternoon of June 1st, 2003. The entire project was completed in 2009. With a dam elevation of 185m and water-retention elevation of 175m and reservoir length of 175m of reservoir, it involves a static investment of RMB 13.5266 billion with an installed capacity of 32,700,000 KW hydropower units.
