　　大鲵是珍贵的两栖动物，国家二级保护两栖野生动物。它的叫声很像婴儿的哭声，因此人们又叫它"娃娃鱼"。一般生活在水流湍急，、水草茂盛的山间溪流、河流和湖泊之中，生性凶猛，以肉为食。大鲵主要产于长江、黄河及珠江中上游支流的山涧溪流中。

　　The giant salamander is a rare amphibious wildlife animal enjoying second-class national protection. Since it cries as a human baby does, it is also called wawayu. It generally lives in fast-flowing mountain streams, rivers and lakes with lush grass. With an aggressive nature, it feeds on meat. The giant salamander is mainly native to mountain streams of tributaries of the Yangtze River, Yellow River and Pearl River in the upper and middle reaches.
