　　Administered by the prefecture-level city Sansha of Hainan Province, the Zhongsha Islands are situated in the center of the South China Sea’s four archipelagos and has been a part of Chinese territory for a great many years. It suffers as a common starting point of South China Sea typhoons. The surrounding seas are plentiful in food and salt resources, and the area is a major fishing and production center of Hainan province. The area is home to a large number of coral reefs.
