　　Turtle Prayer, one of the folk cultural activities of the Han People, falls between the new year (lunar calendar) and the Lantern Festival, when people pile bags of rice into the shape of a sea turtle, called “rice turtle”. In the ceremony people stroke the entire body of the mock turtle thoroughly to pray for prosperity and peace, as well as favorable weather conditions and domestic happiness in the new year.
