　　河姆渡文化是中国长江流域下游地区古老而多姿的新石器时代文化。1973年，第一次发现于浙江余姚河姆渡，因而命名。它主要分布在杭州湾南岸的宁绍平原及舟山岛，经科学的方法进行测定，它的年代为公元前5000年至公元前3300年。它是新石器时代母系氏族公社时期的氏族村落遗址，反映了约7000年前长江下游流域氏族的情况。

　　Hemudu Culture The Hemudu Culture was an ancient and diverse neolithic culture on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It was so named after it was discovered in 1973 in Hemudu, Yutao, Zhejiang Province. It was mainly distributed on the Ningshao Plain and Zhoushan Island in the southern coast of Hangzhou Bay. According to radiocarbon dating, it ranged between 5000BC and 3300BC. As clan village ruins in the matriarchal society in the Neolithic Period, it reflects the conditions of the clans in the basin of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River about 7,000 years ago.
