July 1, 2020 marks the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which was founded with an original aspiration and the mission to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. Drawing its strength from the Chinese people, the CPC breathes the same breath as the people, shares the same future and stays truly connected to them.
All through the years, the CPC has remained committed to the people-centered philosophy of development. China's fight against COVID-19 serves as a telling example of the people-centered development philosophy. To the CPC, people's lives and health are paramount and worthy of the utmost efforts.
Members of the CPC have acted as the vanguard in the battle against the epidemic. More than 39 million CPC members fought the virus at the front line, and more than 13 million CPC members volunteered their services. Nearly 400 CPC members have defended others' lives and safety at the cost of their own.
2020年7月1日，中国共产党成立99周年。自建党以来，中国共产党的初心和使命就是为中国人民谋幸福，为民族谋复兴。中国共产党扎根群众汲取力量，始终与人民同呼吸、共命运、心连心。
多年来，中国共产党始终坚持以人民为中心的发展思想。中国抗击新冠肺炎疫情的艰辛历程就是这一思想的生动体现。中国共产党始终把人民生命健康摆在首位，尽全力确保人民生命安全和身体健康。
中国共产党在抗击新冠肺炎疫情中充分发挥了先锋模范作用。3900多万名党员战斗在抗击疫情的第一线，1300多万名党员参加志愿服务，近400名党员为保卫人民生命安全献出了宝贵生命。
公益诉讼
public interest litigation
China's procuratorial organs will step up efforts to boost environmental protection, as well as food and drug safety through filing public interest litigations, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP).
The SPP has decided to launch a three-year supervision campaign to target illegal acts that endanger the public interest in the fields of environmental protection, as well as food and drug safety.
As per the event schedule, from July 2020 to December 2021, procuratorial organs across China will strengthen supervision in six areas, including illegal discharge of pollutants into waters;
illegal collection, storage, transportation, utilization and disposal of solid waste; illegal generation and discharge of mine tailings; disruption of wildlife protection;
online and offline sales of edible agricultural products and food that fail to meet safety standards; misinformation and illegal advertising on health food.
最高人民检察院表示，中国检察机关将加大工作力度，推进生态环境(环保)及食品药品安全领域的公益诉讼。
最高人民检察院已决定开展为期三年的专项监督活动，打击生态环境(环保)和食品药品安全领域危害公众利益的违法行为。
根据活动安排，2020年7月至2021年12月，全国检察机关将重点围绕六个方面的违法行为开展专项监督。这六个方面包括：违法向水体排放污染物，违法收集、贮存、运输、利用、处置固体废物，违法产生、排放尾矿，破坏野生动物保护，线上线下销售不符合安全标准的食用农产品、食品，保健食品虚假宣传、违法广告等。
